Every time we think there might be too many bars specializing in craft beer, a few more empty spaces start buzzing with activity in anticipation of opening. Here’s a few of the many upcoming beer bars we’re keeping an eye on for opening soon.

George & Jack’s (103 Berry St., at N. 8th St., Williamsburg)
Low-down: We were saddened to see Williamsburg stalwart Brooklyn Ale House close up shop back in August. But we were relieved to see the folks behind nearby Luckydog and Skinny Dennis were taking the reins. The stained glass and some bartenders and regulars remain, but the bar has been refreshed with 20 draft lines expected to pour the likes of Barrier, Peekskill, Allagash, and naturally, Brooklyn Brewery.
Projected Opening: Opens to the public officially tonight.

Brownstone Brooklyn (277 Gold St., at Tillary St., Downtown Brooklyn)
Low-down: The folks from Downtown Ale House, which closed over the summer, are migrating to this polished new sports bar this month. They’re planning to show their craft beer chops with the borough’s local brews from the likes of Other Half, Sixpoint, and KelSo just to name a few, plus
Projected Opening: Their grand opening is tonight, too… so plan your weekend football-watching around this new joint.

Barleycorn (23 Park Pl., at Church St., Financial District)
Low-down: This monstrous beer joint comes from the same folks behind Rattle-N-Hum and Beer Authority. And it’s big: 72 beers on tap on two levels, plus a food lineup that includes a raw bar and brick-oven pizza. As you know from its sister bars, lots of beer events are planned for the future here, too.
Projected Opening: Opening should be just a few weeks away. They’re already taking reservations for the holidays, in fact.

Bierocracy (12-23 Jackson Ave., at 47th Rd., Long Island City)
Low-down: The beer boom in Western Queens continues with this spacious beer hall expected to open come winter time. Except a short but impressive beer list, typical beer hall food, and a decidedly European vibe – one of the owners is based in Prague.
Projected Opening: Expect an opening by early winter, just in time to spend quality drinking time indoors.
