Play Ball: What to drink at Citi Field & Yankee Stadium this season

Baseball season begins this weekend, and it summons visions of sitting outside in the summer sun, watching a ballgame and sipping on beer. For years, craft beer fans suffered at the hands of corporate sponsorship and couldn’t drink anything more than mass-produced, flavorless beer. But in recent years, ballparks around the country have stepped up their beer game. Here in New York, most of that improvement has come at Citi Field, who has served craft beer since it opened in 2009. But even Yankee Stadium begrudgingly added craft beer last season after years of missteps

Founders KBS makes annual NYC debut this week

The beloved, hyped Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout makes its annual arrival in New York City this week. The Imperial Stout, which includes generous amounts of coffee and chocolate, is cave-aged in oak bourbon barrels for a year, and weighs in at a hefty, cellar-friendly 12.4% ABV. This year, the rollout will include a week’s worth of release events all over the city.

The kickoff starts this weekend with a handful of events, including a big Founders tap takeover at One Mile House (10 Delancey St., at Bowery, Lower East Side) with both this year’s and last year’s KBS, along with a whole bunch of other goodies and rarities from the Grand Rapids, Michigan-based brewery. That event gets underway at 5pm.

But that’s not all! Here’s a rundown of bars that will be releasing KBS on tap in special events during the month of April.
