Barring a remarkable comeback by the Twins, Minnesota’s Surly Brewing Company will see its bottles in Manhattan - via a bet between the mayors of New York and Minneapolis:
New York Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg and Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Ryback have a friendly wager on this year’s ALDS. If the Yankees win, Ryback will send a bushel of Honeycrisp apples a case of beer from the Surly Brewing Company to Bloomberg. If the Twins win, Bloomberg will send an assortment of urban produce from the New York Botanical Garden and its Bronx community garden partners and a case of Brooklyn Lager to Minnesota.
