fatmanatee:

I’ve decided to rent a car or something and go to Delaware and drink all weekend at the Dogfish Head Brewery.  Vacation houses have to be ridiculously cheap this time of year, right?

I still want to go to Austin and Portland, maybe in one trip, I don’t know.  I NEED TO MOVE IT MOVE IT.

Just do it all at once. Heck, tour the entire country. It make take a year and far too many hangovers to count, but it’ll be worth it.

Rebecca wants Ithaca Beer and lives in Minnesota. I want New Belgium and live in New York. I think she’s come up with the solution to all our problems.

Homebrew Batch #2: Gingerbread Man

It’s a one-gallon batch (I’m starting small), so bear with the small numbers. I’ll probably boil on Saturday, so it’ll be ready just in time for the holiday season.

1.5 lbs. American 2-row
0.5 lbs. Honey Malt

0.3 oz. Cluster hops - 60 min.
0.1 oz. Willamette hops - 15 min.
¼ tsp. ground nutmeg - 15 min.
½ tsp. cinnamon - 15 min.
½ tsp. ginger - 15 min.
1.5 oz. molasses - 15 min.
0.1 oz. Willamette hops - 1 min.

Wyeast - 1056 American Ale

Here’s the Endurance Arctica Pale Ale, an extremely pale APA - resembles a golden ale in its pour and mouthfeel. Rich malty nose with a fleeting floral aroma. Mildly hoppy although a bit soapy and watery (soapwater?). A surprisingly bitter finish considering how clean everything else in this beer.

Grade: B-
