Zero Gravity Beer at American Flatbread in Burlington, Vermont brews some top-notch microbrews and sources local ingredients to boot.
Berkshire Brewing Company’s River Ale is “the East Coast’s answer to Fat Tire,” as Wakefield, Rhode Island’s Mews Tavern claims. Smells like that (non-existant on the East Coast) New Belgium standby. Tastes like it, too. By golly, if you told me you had snuck a keg of Fat Tire on a flight from Denver and were illegally pouring it at the Mews, I’d believe you. Malty, slightly smokey, and pleasantly sweet at the finish. A good, solid impostor.
Grade: B+
