A business trip to Maine requires a diversion to one of the state’s 30+ breweries.

Shipyard brews in the English style, so a lot of their beers are especially malty and yeasty and just not my style. It’s not my favorite brewery in Maine (I prefer Allagash), but I’m always happy to drink beer that I can’t get my hands on in New York.

Pictured here is the Shipyard Brewer’s Brown Ale, their new spring seasonal. I find the choice of a brown ale as a spring seasonal to be a bit unusual, but Maine seems to do a lot of things differently.

We as New Yorkers must rise up against travesties like this. Take your wallet and buy your beer elsewhere.
