Happy Hour: Have a Peak at these events

Here are the beer-related goings-on after work tonight in and around New York:

  • Kelso of Brooklyn visits Taproom 307 (307 3rd Ave., at 24th St., Grammercy) tonight from 6-9pm, with beers like their Restoration IPA and Flanders Red Ale on tap, and brewmaster Kelly Taylor on hand to chat about them.
  • Get your hands on some Peak Organic at Breukelen Bier Merchants (182 Grand St., at Driggs Ave., Williamsburg) tonight from 6-9pm. They’ll have the King Crimson Imperial Red, Summer Session, IPA, and more on tap, plus deals on pints and growlers!
  • Straight outta Denmark comes Evil Twin’s first event at The Double Windsor (210 Prospect Park West, at 16th St., Windsor Terrace) tonight starting at 7pm. They’ll have five of brewer Jeppe Jarnit-Bjergsø’s beers on tap, including the Biscotti Break, Wet Dream, and Katz Piss (don’t blame the messenger - I didn’t name the beers). And fun fact for this who didn’t know, Jeppe Jarnit-Bjergsø is the twin brother of Mikkeller’s Mikkel Borg Bjergsø… hence the brewery’s name.
  • At Pacific Standard (82 4th Ave., at St. Marks Pl., Boreum Hill), check out Wandering Star’s five beers tonight at 5pm, all on tap fresh from Pittsfield, Massachusetts. Try the Alpha Extra Pale Ale, Raindrop Pale Ale, Bert’s Disqualified Stout, and more. The brewery, by the way, is run by three folks from New York, so celebrate your local brewers!

While summer slowly winds down, The Diamond will take to the grill, fire up the taps with easy-drinking summer brews, and throw on some summer-themed movies.

Craft beer-loving commuters rejoice! BT Pantry now open at Grand Central

image

After years of enduring fizzy, yellow, American-brewed beer-flavored water and a handful of mass-produced exports, commuters who travel through Grand Central Terminal each day can now rest easy. BT Pantry (Grand Central Terminal, Graybar Passage, Midtown), a new beer shop from the owners of Brooklyn’s Beer Table, opened its doors this morning, selling a variety of 80 craft beers in bottles from the US and abroad.
