On December 3rd, join us for a three-state Barcade bar crawl

image

In case you didn’t know, Barcade opened their third location this month in Philadelphia, adding to their locations in Brooklyn and Jersey City. In a spark of creative genius (or complete insanity), we and Beertography decided to organize a bar crawl to visit all three Barcades in one day: Saturday, December 3rd.

Grab a NJ Transit ticket and join us after the jump…

Beer Odds and Ends: Literary Edition

Two new craft beer books from New York authors are out this fall. Our friend, beer journalist and former NY Press columnist Joshua M. Bernstein, releases Brewed Awakening: Behind the Beers and Brewers Leading the World’s Craft Brewing Revolution on November 1st (it’s available for pre-order now on Amazon). The book is bursting with notes, guides, and anecdotes to pretty much everything craft beer has to offer. Gothamist interviewed Josh about his favorite New York beer bars this week. Check it out - his pick in Manhattan is a surprising one!

On the same day, Erica Shea and Stephen Valand of Brooklyn Brew Shop release their Beer Making Book - a step-by-step guide to homebrewing, with recipes specifically designed for small batch brewing that’s best suited to tiny New York apartments. They’re also giving away tickets to their launch party on their site, where they’ll serve their homebrewed batches paired with treats from local food vendors.

More beer news, including two upcoming beer bar openings, after the jump…
