It’s Thursday, December 8th. Here’s our list of recommended beer-related events in and around New York after work tonight:
- Sixpoint takes over the taps at Bierkraft (191 Fifth Ave., at President St., Park Slope) beginning at 7pm. They’re bringing a huge lineup, including Gorilla Warfare coffee porter, the Atlantic Amber, the new Mad Scientists #7 Cranberry Porter, and a cask of Autobahn IPA.
- If you want a really good deal on really good beer, drop by The Brazen Head (228 Atlantic Ave., at Court St., Cobble Hill) from 6-8pm tonight for $3 pints of Founders Centennial IPA, Cascade Pale Ale, and Dirty Bastard, plus $3 12-ounce pours of their Breakfast Stout.
- The Gate (321 5th Ave., at 3rd St., Park Slope) offers up some goodies from Ballast Point and Two Brothers tonight at 8pm. They’ll serve up 2010 vintages of the Two Brothers Northwind Imperial Stout and the Ballast Point Bourbon Barrel-Aged Black Marlin, plus a whole bunch more from both breweries (including, of course, the much-beloved Sculpin).
- Brooklyn Brew Shop does a live homebrewing demo and tasting tonight from 7:30-9pm at Breukelen Bier Merchants (182 Grand St., at Driggs Ave., Williamsburg). Watch them make beer while you sip a sample of their Chocolate Maple Porter homebrew. Then, you can buy a kit and make it at home!
- There’s nothing better than the taste of free beer. Head downtown for a free tasting of Chimay Red, White, and Blue at Whole Foods Tribeca (270 Greenwich St., at Warren St., Tribeca) tonight from 4-8pm.
- City Swiggers (320 E. 86th St., at 2nd Ave., Upper East Side) celebrates their grand opening tonight starting at 5pm. They’ll be pouring some special beers, plus giving away gift certificates, glassware, growlers, and more!
- Over in Jersey City, The Iron Monkey (97 Greene St., at York St., Jersey City, NJ) hosts Dogfish Head starting at 6pm. They’ll have a whopping 24 beers on tap from Delaware, including 120 Minute IPA, Festina Peche, a 2010 Olde School barleywine, and a special tapping of the Pearl Jam tribute beer, Faithfull Ale.
