It’s Thursday, March 29th. Here’s our list of recommended beer-related events in and around New York after work tonight:
- The East Coast v. West Coast Heavy Metal Brew Tour makes its next stop tonight at Idle Hands Bar (25 Avenue B, at 2nd St., East Village). At 7pm, they’ll play heavy metal from both coasts and serve beer from both coasts. In the East Coast corner: Victory and Smuttynose! In the West Coast corner: Ballast Point and Lagunitas! You get to decide who reins supreme! Meet some metal artists, hear some metal playlists, and drink some awesome beers!
- Bronx Ale House (216 W. 238th St., at Broadway, Kingsbridge, Bronx) hosts Tröegs tonight starting at 6pm. They’ll pour the Troegenator, Nugget Nectar, the new Scratch Beer #59: Mighty Moose Mild, and much more!
- The Gate (321 5th Ave., at 3rd St., Park Slope) hosts Long Island’s very own Greenport Harbor tonight starting at 7pm. They’ll pour the Triton Barleywine, Imperial Stout, Spring Turning Rye Saison, a cask of the Harbor Ale dry-hopped with Citra hops, and lots more!
- The week-long anniversary celebration at The Queens Kickshaw (40-17 Broadway, at 41st St., Astoria) ends with a finale tonight at 6:30pm with live music, cheesecake, a toast, and special anniversary beers like Davidson Brothers 15th Anniversary, Weyerbacher Sixteen, and Uinta 17th Anniversary Barleywine.
- Join Bronx Brewery at Whole Foods Bowery Beer Room (95 E. Houston St., at Chrystie St., Lower East Side) tonight from 5-8pm. They’ll be pouring samples of their Bronx Pale Ale and pouring growlers to go, too!
- Jimmy’s No. 43 (43 E. 7th St., at 2nd Ave., East Village) begins a new Thursday tradition: the Thursday Tap. Each week at 5pm, they’ll tap a rare keg, and you’ll get to unleash a frenzy on it. This week, it’s the Kissmeyer Stockholm Syndrome Double IPA, a powerful IPA from Denmark with tons of American and New Zealand hops.
- Tonight, Bierkraft (191 Fifth Ave., at President St., Park Slope) dedicates their taps to Colorado’s Breckenridge Brewery starting tonight at 7pm! Try a bunch of their beers, including a very special keg of the 471 IPA aged in a Stranahan whiskey barrel.
