Beer Table wants a Beer Bike!

Beer Table (427B 7th Ave., at 15th St., Park Slope) and Beer Table Pantry (Grand Central Terminal, Graybar Passage, Midtown) want your help! They’re using smallknot, a crowdsourcing site for small businesses, to raise funds for two big improvements to their two locations. With a deadline for funding looming just eight days from now, they need your support now so you can stay cool at their restaurant over the summer and get beer delivered by bike to your Midtown office.

Happy Hour: Gnome Week Redux

It’s Tuesday, June 12th. Here’s our list of recommended beer-related events in and around New York after work tonight:

  • The weekly Ten Buck Tasting at Jimmy’s No. 43 (43 E. 7th St., at 2nd Ave., East Village) features English Session Ales. You’ll get six tastings of brews for $10, and avoid getting sloshed thanks to these tasty low-alcohol delights! The tasting gets underway tonight at 7:30pm.

  • The Growler Station (26 W. 8th St., at MacDougal St., Greenwich Village) hosts a tasting of some vintage Goose Island beers, including Matilda, Pere Jacque, and Sophie, from 5-8pm.

  • Tonight at 7:30pm, Radegast Hall & Biergarten (113 N. 3rd St., at Berry St., Williamsburg) hosts a Brasserie d'Achouffe Night, along with live music and free snacks! On the heels of last week’s Gnome Week, you can choose from beers like Houblon, La Chouffe, Biere du Soleil, and more!

  • It’s Half-Price Rare Bottle Night at Rattle-N-Hum (14 E. 33rd St., at 5th Ave., Midtown). From 4-10pm, enjoy half-priced bottles of their rarer beers like Alesmith Old Numbskull, Ithaca Alphapha, The Bruery Saison Rue, and more!

  • Trappist Ales are the subject of this week’s free Tuesday Tasting at Bierkraft (191 Fifth Ave., at President St., Park Slope) tonight at 7pm. You’ll get to sample several different brews brewed by Trappist Monks for free, with your host, Bierkraft’s own Matt Barclay.

Your Beery Weekend: June 8-10

Summer is a great time to get out of the city and enjoy the country air… and the country beer. If you’re looking to make a little trip this weekend, head to Newburgh and visit Newburgh Brewing’s new taproom, which opens tomorrow. In addition to pouring their sessionable, flavorful beers, they’ll also serve food like Rosemary and Garlic Pommes Frites, House-Made Pork Rinds, and Sausage and Ginger Carrot Slaw on a Roll. If that doesn’t get your mouth watering enough to want to hop in a ZipCar and head up the Thruway, we’re not sure what will.

If you’re staying in the city, though, there’s plenty of great beer here to keep you occupied. Here’s a rundown of this weekend’s beer events:

Happy Hour: Thirsty Thursday

It’s Thursday, June 7th. Here’s our list of recommended beer-related events in and around New York after work tonight:

  • It’s an Allagash Bash… an AllaBash! Head to Brouwerij Lane (78 Greenpoint Ave., at Franklin St., Greenpoint) tonight from 6-10pm as they pour the Interlude, Hugh Malone, Big Little, Thing 1, and more - 14 beers in all!

  • At Barcade Brooklyn (388 Union Ave., at Ainslie St., Williamsburg), Sierra Nevada takes over the taps starting at 4pm. They’ll have the 30th Anniversary Jack & Ken’s Ale, 30th Anniversary Fritz & Ken’s Ale, and Hoptimum on tap, a cask of the dry-hopped Torpedo, and so much more!

  • And at Barcade Jersey City (163 Newark Ave., at Erie St., Jersey City), it’s Cricket Hill Night. Celebrate Jersey beer with the East Coast Lager, Colonel Blide’s Cask Ale, the Imperial IPA, and more starting at 5pm.

  • Bronx Ale House (216 W. 238th St., at Broadway, Kingsbridge) celebrates Gnome Week with a tap takeover tonight starting at 8pm. They’ll be featuring Biere du Soleil, La Chouffe, Houblon Chouffe, and more!

  • Bierkraft (191 Fifth Ave., at President St., Park Slope) hosts a shootout of Colorado beers tonight! Starting at 7pm, the taps get taken over by beers from Oskar Blues, Breckenridge, Great Divide, and Left Hand!

  • It’s IPA Night at Alphabet City Beer Co. (96 Avenue C, at 6th St., East Village) tonight from 6-9pm. Come sample six different IPAs on tap, including the GABF Gold-Medal Imperial IPA, Firestone Walker Double Jack.

  • The Thursday Tap at Jimmy’s No. 43 (43 E. 7th St., at 2nd Ave., East Village) this week is the Avery Samael’s. Get there are 5pm to try this great barleywine from one of Colorado’s finest breweries!

  • Dogfish Head visit Buddha Beer Bar (4497 Broadway, at 192nd St., Washington Heights) tonight from 6-9pm. Have the 60 Minute IPA, 90 Minute IPA, Tweasonale, and yes, the 120 Minute IPA - which even comes with a free goblet while supplies last!

  • KelSo hosts a tasting at The Growler Station (26 W. 8th St., at MacDougal St., Greenwich Village) tonight from 5-8pm. Try the Brett IPA and the Carrollgaarden Wit!
