
This isn’t just any old Monday, it’s the Monday of New York City Beer Week ! Here’s our rundown of the top beer events throughout the city today, from beer dinners to tap takeovers. Choose wisely, and please drink responsibly!
- Jimmy’s No. 43 (43 E. 7th St., at 2nd Ave., East Village) hosts their Vegetarian Nonsense Dinner tonight at 7pm, with a five-course meat-free dinner paired with beers from small local breweries like Singlecut Beersmiths, Port Jeff, and 508 Gastrobrewery. A few tickets are still available for $45 through Brown Paper Tickets.
- Barrier Brewing takes over the taps tonight at Alewife (5-14 51st Ave., at 5th St., Long Island City), with over a dozen different beers on tap from the small Oceanside-based brewer. In addition, there’s an optional five-course dinner with beer pairings for $65 that starts at 7:30pm.
- Sixpoint debuts their new beer for The Modern (9 W. 53rd St., at 5th Ave., Midtown), Ataraxia, at the restaurant tonight at 6pm. They’ll have six beers on tap, including the new aforementioned Strong Ale. They’ll also offer complimentary Alsatian flatbreads in the bar.
- Join Ithaca Beer Co. and Bronx Ale House (216 W. 238th St., at Broadway, Kingsbridge) at a very special four-course beer dinner on Monday at 7pm. Each course, like a Goat Cheese Tart with Fresh Herbs and Stone Fruit, Grilled Mahi Mahi Spring Rolls, and Braised Lamb Shank with Fennel-Barley Risotto, will be paired with a beer from Ithaca’s Excelsior! Series. They’ll break out some favorites like the Alphapha, Gorges Smoked Porter, and even the two-year aged Twelve. The dinner with pairings is $70, including tax and tip. - The 7th Annual Williamsburg Cask Festival continues through tomorrow from 1pm to close at d.b.a. Brooklyn (113 N. 7th St., at Berry St., Williamsburg). They’ll have a rotating lineup of casks from local, American, and international brewers, plus a fundraising raffle with tons of vintage bottles, with proceeds to benefit the family of late d.b.a. owner Ray Deter.
- For the first time in their two-year history, Czech beer spot Hospoda (321 E. 73rd St., at 1st Ave., Upper East Side) will pour American beer through their Bohemian Beer Quadrunner today through Thursday. They’ll have the Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout and Winter Ale on tap, and for $15, you can learn more about their unique tap system by pouring the beer yourself! You get two pours, and you get to keep the glass!
- George Keeley (485 Amsterdam Ave., at 83rd St., Upper West Side) hosts Speakeasy tonight at 7pm, pouring their beers and pairing them with Girl Scout Cookies!
