First Look at Tørst

image

Imagine walking into a beer bar with someone who’s not a huge fan of beer. The bar serves beer and only beer, so your guest doesn’t have many options. Finally, after looking at the menu a little befuddled, he says to the bartender, “do you have something like a wheat beer… something light?”

Only at a place like Tørst (615 Manhattan Ave., at Nassau Ave., Greenpoint) would the bartender’s response be, “sure, we have the Hill Farmstead Florence.” Yes, even the bar’s basic offerings are beers that are fawned over by the beer community. In creating a bar with a menu that celebrates all things beers, offers one-of-a-kind beers, and still manages to be accessible, Tørst is a beer geek’s paradise.
