They’ll have a cask of the Blast!, kegs of the 2010 Monster Ale, Mary’s Maple Porter, and new Silver Anniversary Lager, just to name a few, and some ghost bottles like the 2007 Black Ops!

  • City Swiggers (320 E. 86th St., at 2nd Ave., Upper East Side) hosts the Bronx Brewery tonight starting at 6pm. with the flagship Bronx Pale Ale, Black Pale Ale, and brand-new Belgian Pale Ale all on tap!

  • Are you a fan of Troegs Nugget Nectar? The Gate (321 5th Ave., at 3rd St., Park Slope) has it available three ways starting at 7pm: on tap, in a cask, and aged on year. Have at it!

  • Don your best gnome hat and head to Top Hops Beer Shop (94 Orchard St., at Broome St., Lower East Side) tonight from 6-8pm as they celebrate the beers of d’Achouffe with owner Chris Bauweraerts. On draft will be the Ommegang collaboration Gnomegang, plus Houblon Chouffe, McChouffe, and La Chouffe.

  • Are you a homebrewer? Stop by Bitter & Esters (700 Washington Ave., at Prospect Pl., Prospect Heights) tonight from 6:30-9:30pm for their bottle swap. Bring a bottle of a beer of your own to pour and two to swap (if you’d like) and they’ll share something from their own stash, too!
  • Enjoy Victory beers until 10pm tonight at Sycamore (1118 Cortelyou Rd., at Westminster Rd., Ditmas Park). They’ll be offering an $8 four-beer flight from the Pennsylvania brewery, including the Swing Session Saison, Ranch IPA, Yakima Glory, and more!

  • Long Island’s Port Jeff Brewing and Idle Hands Bar (25 Avenue B, at 2nd St., East Village), team up for the bar’s weekly $10 Bourbon and Beer Tasting Series. Tonight from 7-9pm, $10 gets beers in a 3-beer tasting flight, 2 full pours, a taste of whisky, and an order of tater tots.

Beer Table closing up shop in Park Slope space, moving to bigger space

image

After five years in its current Park Slope space, Beer Table (427B 7th Ave., at 15th St., Park Slope) is closing to explore bigger and better things. The small beer and food joint will close its doors on Saturday, April 27th, and will ultimately move to a much-needed larger space with a full kitchen in a location to be determined. While they focus on getting things going in a new space, owners Justin and Tricia Phillips will launch a traveling beer dinner series, continue to operate their store Beer Table Pantry (Grand Central Terminal, Graybar Passage, Midtown), offer their catering and beer tasting services, and work on the next offering in the Table Beer series, the first of which was brewed with Brian Strumke of Stillwater Artisinal Ales.

Where to score Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout this week in NYC

image

The beloved, hyped Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout arrives in New York City this week. The Imperial Stout, which includes generous amounts of coffee and chocolate, is cave-aged in bourbon barrels for a year, and weighs in at a cellaring-friendly 11.2% ABV.

We know that Malt & Mold (221 East Broadway, at Clinton St., Lower East Side), Astoria Bier & Cheese (34-14 Broadway, at 35th St., Astoria), ABC Beer Co. (96 Avenue C, at 6th St., East Village), and Top Hops Beer Shop (94 Orchard St., at Broome St., Lower East Side) have already put it out on shelves (and it’s going fast), and that Good Beer (422 E. 9th St., btw. 1st Ave. and Ave. A, East Village) will release it for sale tomorrow at noon.

Expect quantity limits on the 12-ounce bottles of this rare beer, as we’ve heard the supply is limited as usual. Plus, this beer is hugely popular, so even with those limits, you may have to call or visit a couple of places to find it. To help you in your search, Founders’ man about town here in NYC has given us the list of retailers who will be stocking it…
