The Beer Weekender: July 12-14

image

Here’s a friendly reminder: have you gotten your Get Real Craft Beer Passport yet? The folks at Get Real, along with the New York State Brewers Assocation, are celebrating Good Beer Month with a $30 passport that entitles you to a free pint of beer at 39 different bars in all five boroughs between July 1st and Labor Day, September 2nd. That’s, like, 77 cents a glass if you make it to all 39. These bars all proudly pour New York State beer as well, so you can keep it local with brews from spots like Shmaltz, Barrier, Brooklyn, Empire, and more.

Bars from The Queens Kickshaw (40-17 Broadway, at 41st St., Astoria) to Killmeyer’s (4254 Arthur Kill Rd., at Sharrotts Rd., Charleston, Staten Island) to Bronx Ale House (216 W. 238th St., at Broadway, Kingsbridge) accept the passport, which can be purchased now and picked up at any of five different locations in the city.

Best of all, proceeds from the passport will benefit The Mayor’s Fund for Hurricane Sandy Relief, and Heritage Radio Network.

Spend your weekend perusing those bars, or check out this weekend’s beer events:
