Happy Hour: Strong Island

It’s Tuesday, July 23rd. Here’s our list of recommended beer-related events in and around New York after work tonight:

  • Good Beer (422 E. 9th St., btw. 1st Ave. and Ave. A, East Village) celebrates Long Island Beer Night with brews from Barrier, Greenport Harbor, Port Jefferson, Blue Point, and Spider Bite tonight starting at 6:30pm.

  • Bierkraft (191 Fifth Ave., at President St., Park Slope) features sours beers tonight at 7pm for their free Tuesday Tasting. Pucker up and join cellar manager Joe Tracey as he serves a lineup of sours in a guided tasting… get there early for a seat!

  • Brewmaster Chris Cuzme rolls out a new collaboration with Bitter & Esters at The 508 Gastrobrewery (508 Greenwich St., at Spring St., SoHo) tonight starting at 7pm. It’s called Yojimbo, a cherry rice ale. For every glass poured, they’ll donate a dollar to the American Cancer Society!

  • One Mile House (10 Delancey St., at Bowery, Lower East Side) celebrates Wheat Beer Night tonight starting at 6pm. They’ll put on Local Option Blood ov the Kings, Freigeist Peated AbraxxxasJolly Pumpkin Weizen Bam, Nebraska EOS, and more on tap, plus food specials, and a few surprises!

  • Rattle-N-Hum (14 E. 33rd St., at 5th Ave., Midtown) hosts Long Trail starting at 4pm. Enjoy the Lemon Pepper Kolsch, Double IPA, and lots more on tap all night long.

Happy Hour: Brewed in Brooklyn

It’s Monday, July 22nd. Here’s our list of recommended beer-related events in and around New York after work tonight:

  • Brooklyn Brewery (79 N. 11th St., at Wythe Ave., Williamsburg) hosts a screening of Brewed in Brooklyn, a documentary about the borough’s long brewing history and recent brewing revival. The screening starts at 8pm, with a Q&A with the filmmakers afterwards. Tickets are $10 through Eventbrite and include your first beer.“

  • Queens meets the Bronx tonight from 7-9pm at Keuka Kafe (112-04 Queens Blvd., at 75th Rd., Forest Hills). Taste beer from Bronx Brewery for the first time, or just get reacquainted with it, as you hang out with Bronx’s man about town, Sean McCain.

  • Beer Table Pantry (Grand Central Terminal, Graybar Passage, Midtown) hosts a free guided tasting of beer from KelSo tonight from 5-7pm. Stop in on your way to the train for a tasting of beers like their Industrial IPA and Carrollgaarden Wit.

  • It’s VSK (Very Special Keg) Monday at Blind Tiger Ale House (281 Bleecker St., at Jones St., Greenwich Village). At 5pm, they’ll tap a rare or unique keg of the bar’s choosing. This week, it’s the Founders Rübaeus, a fruity summer brew made with fresh raspberries.
