Colicchio’s High Line Food Lot will serve local beer

Add one more spot for outdoor beer drinking this summer: a parking lot. At the north end of the soon-to-open section 2 of The High Line, an empty parking lot at 30th Street and 10th Avenue will transform into an urban playspace, food truck oasis, and - yes - an outdoor bar.
Tom Colicchio will curate the food trucks and the 350-seat bar, which will be positioned underneath the High Line itself. The big news for beer lovers, though, is that he’ll partner with Brooklyn Brewery on an exclusive beer to be served at The Lot: High Line Elevated Wheat. The beer, an American Wheat Ale, will be brewed with New York State-sourced ingredients. They’ll use red winter wheat from North Country Farms in the St. Lawrence Valley and honey from Tremblay Apiaries in Van Etten, just south of Ithaca. The Lot also promises to serve other local craft beers as well.
The target opening date is in June, in conjunction with the opening of Section 2 of The High Line.
