A second Duane Reade adds growler fills

A peek at the new Brew York City bar at Duane Reade (via kbanks on Twitter)

We’ve already seen Duane Reade bring growler fills to their Bedford Ave. location in Williamsburg, but now their “Brew York City” (really, we’re flattered) empire has a new location at Broadway and 72nd Street on the Upper West Side.

Just like in Brooklyn, all growler fills at $7.99 and they offer a wide variety of micro and macro brews, from Founders Dirty Bastard to Dos Equis, plus local beers from Sixpoint, Blue Point, and Brooklyn. Their full menu is updated regularly on Beermenus.

While the beer menu won’t blow away New York’s biggest beer geeks, Brew York City is offering affordable local craft beer to the masses. Heck, there are bars in New York that charge nearly the same price for a pint of beer. The Bedford Ave. location in Brooklyn has become a site for special tastings hosted by local brewers, and has been very supportive of local brewers by giving them great visibility. Hopefully, we’ll see the same on the Upper West Side… and in the near future at other Duane Reade locations around the city.
