Happy Hour: Thirsty Thursday

It’s Thursday, February 16th. Here’s our list of recommended beer-related events in and around New York after work tonight:

  • As we mentioned earlier, Sixpoint Mad Scientists #8 Ich Bin Kein, a Berliner Weisse brewed to celebrate Time Out New York’s annual beer issue, will be released simultaneously at more than a dozen bars across the city tonight at 7pm. For a complete list, read our issue recap.
  • Founders pours a whopping 16 beers at The Gate (321 5th Ave., at 3rd St., Park Slope) tonight starting at 7pm. Among the brews they’ll offer up: a 2009 vintage Imperial Stout, the Devil Dancer Triple IPA, the new release Better Half, and yes, the 2010 Canadian Breakfast Stout. Get there early!
  • Over in Jersey City, The Iron Monkey (97 Greene St., at York St., Jersey City, NJ) hosts Flying Fish as part of their Meet the Brewery series starting at 6pm. They’ll pour the Red Fish, Abbey Dubbel, the brand-new Exit 8 Chestnut Brown Ale, and more!
  • Want a good deal on beer? Head down to the South Slope to Mary’s Bar (708 5th Ave., at 22nd St., South Slope) tonight at 8pm, when Peak Organic will be pouring pints of the Winter Session and Nut Brown for just four damn dollars.
  • Our friends off the 7 Train can pay Molly Bloom’s (43-13 Queens Blvd., at 43rd St., Sunnyside) a visit for Blue Point Night from 7-9pm. Pints of Toasted Lager and Winter Ale are half-price!
  • Haven’t had the Guinness Black Lager yet? Give it a whirl and get free swag at Buddha Beer Bar (4497 Broadway, at 192nd St., Washington Heights) tonight from 7-9pm.
