Happy Hour: International beers of mystery
It’s Tuesday, February 7th. Here’s our list of recommended beer-related events in and around New York after work tonight:
- The weekly Ten Buck Tasting at Jimmy’s No. 43 (43 E. 7th St., at 2nd Ave., East Village) features beers more of Shelton Brothers Importers’ beers from around the world! You’ll get six tastings of some international brews for $10, including Hook Norton 12 Days, Mikkeller Centennial Single Hop, Nøgne ø Peculiar Yule, and others. What are the others? That’s for me to know and you to find out! The tasting gets underway tonight at 7:30pm.
- This week’s Bierkraft (191 Fifth Ave., at President St., Park Slope) Tuesday tasting is a night of brews from Lagunitas! They’ll have some goodies from California like the Censored Ale, Imperial Stout, Czech Pils, and maybe even the Imperial Red. Sorry, they won’t have any of that other kind of goodie that Lagunitas is known for. The free tasting gets underway at 7pm.
- Tonight at Franklin Park (618 St. John’s Pl. at Franklin Ave., Prospect Heights), the folks from Bitter & Esters homebrew shop in Brooklyn will show off the fruits of their labors from a hands-on classe in their “Brew Like a Pro” Series, where they brew clones of popular American craft beers. Tonight at 8pm, buy the original beer, Smuttynose IPA, and get an eight-ounce pour of the clone beer for free!
- It’s the first Tuesday of the month, so Cassius is at Blind Tiger Ale House (281 Bleecker St., at Jones St., West Village) from 8-10pm, spinning collaborative-themed records while they serve the collaboration Mikkeller/Three Floyds BOOGOOP!
