Happy Hour: Get Imperial
It’s Tuesday, January 17th. Here’s our list of recommended beer-related events in and around New York after work tonight:
- It’s Imperial Beer Night at Mission Dolores (249 4th Ave., at Carroll St., Park Slope). Starting at 7pm, drink up so highly potent brews like Firestone Walker 15, Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA, and the 2010 Avery Samael’s. But pace yourself!
- This week’s Bierkraft (191 Fifth Ave., at President St., Park Slope) Tuesday tasting hosts Narragansett, with the Lager and Porter, plus ciders from Original Sin. The free tasting gets underway at 7pm.
- Dogfish Head kicks off a week at Downtown Bar & Grill (160 Court St., at Dean St., Cobble Hill) starting tonight at 5pm. They’ll have a cask of 75 Minute IPA, plus 12 other lines of new and vintage DFH beers on tap kicking off a week-long celebration of Milton, Delaware’s finest brews.
- The weekly Ten Buck Tasting at Jimmy’s No. 43 (43 E. 7th St., at 2nd Ave., East Village) features high-lovibond beers! Lovibond is the scale by which malt darnkess - and the eventual darkness of beer - is measure. In other words, you’ll get six tastings of some dark beers for $10, including Fuller’s London Porter, Ommegang Adoration, and Dieu du Ciel! Peche Mortel. The tasting gets underway tonight at 7:30pm.
