New York Craft Beer Week: Our Picks for Day 8

MEET THE BREWER WITH SIERRA NEVADA
Location:Mugs Alehouse (125 Bedford Ave., at N. 10th St., Williamsburg)
Time: 7pm
Cost: Free
Meet Terence Sullivan of Sierra Nevada, who brought along some goodies from Chico, California, including the Life & Limb 2 collaboration with Dogfish Head, the FOAM Pilsner, and the return of Hoptimum.
RYE BEER NIGHT
Location: Rye House (11 W. 17th St., at 5th Ave., Union Square)
Time: 6-9pm
Cost: Free
Makes sense that Rye House would serve rye beers, right? Try the Founder’s Red’s Rye, Sixpoint Righteous, He’Brew Lenny’s RIPA, and more beers brewed with rye. They’ll also serve up some rye whiskeys for the beer-deficient.
NEW YORK VS. BOSTON BEER NIGHT
Location: The Stag’s Head (252 E. 51st St., at 2nd Ave., Turtle Bay)
Time: 6pm
Cost: Free
As the Red Sox and Yankees square off in their last series of the season, this event will put Boston and New York beers on tap and pit them against each other. In New York’s corner: Kelso, Captain Lawrence, and Chelsea. In Boston’s corner: Harpoon, Samuel Adams, and Cape Ann.
KELSO NIGHT
Location: Breukelen Bier Merchants (182 Grand St., at Driggs Ave., Williamsburg)
Time: 6-9pm
Cost: Free
Drink beer as fresh as you can get, just 20 or so blocks from the brewery. Kelso offers up the Brandy Barrel-aged and Bourbon Barrel-aged versions of their IPA, plus the Kellerfest and their Flemish Sour.
CROSSROADS AND DAVIDSON AT BROADWAY DIVE
Location: Broadway Dive (2662 Broadway, at 101st St., Upper West Side)
Time: 7pm
Cost: Free
The Broadway Dive dedicates their taps to brews from two Upstate breweries tonight: Crossroads from the Hudson Valley, and Davidson from Glens Falls. Crossroads’ Outrage IPA was the hit of last night’s Brewers’ Choice event, and Davidson’s beers are just as sharp and snappy as their logo.
